Attendees Will Explore Advanced Geospatial Technology at the ESRI APUC

Asia Pacific User Conference Is Combined with ESRI Australia's National Client Conference for the First Time

Redlands, California — March 02, 2010 —
Geographic information system (GIS) technology users will gather at the 2010 ESRI Asia Pacific User Conference (APUC) March 3–5 in Queensland, Australia, to find out the latest in applying GIS technology to today's challenges. For the first time, the APUC will be held in conjunction with ESRI Australia Pty. Ltd.'s annual national client conference (OZRI) to provide a larger forum for users to connect and grow their GIS knowledge and skills.

The agenda reflects the conference theme, GIS: Extending the Reach. Sessions, demonstrations, and discussions will explore how GIS has evolved from a tool that simply pairs location and information to a serious business system that delivers an even greater return on investment. ESRI president Jack Dangermond's Keynote Address, as well as the industry best practices shared during paper presentations, will focus on extending GIS across the globe in a variety of ways.

"Participants will see how one another has pushed boundaries to further powerful GIS applications, solving problems and revealing opportunities to be successful," says Brett Bundock, managing director of ESRI Australia. Professionals throughout the region have used GIS to manage data, run businesses, and create pioneering solutions for public safety, the environment, and more.

A welcome social on opening night will kick off the week with a chance to begin networking and discuss GIS with peers and ESRI staff. The conference will continue with technology presentations, workshops, and training courses. Technical experts and industry specialists from ESRI and ESRI Australia will also be available to answer questions one-on-one throughout the conference. Plus, numerous exhibitors will be on hand in the exhibition area to discuss cutting-edge geospatial solutions.

A three-day preconference training course, System Architecture Design Strategies, is being offered to provide a comprehensive look at selecting and planning for the right system architecture to support an organization's deployment needs. Two one-day preconference workshops are also available: Take the Plunge (ArcGIS Server) and Best Practices for Your Enterprise GIS.

The APUC will be held at the Conrad Jupiters Hotel on the Gold Coast. Visit www.esriaustralia.com.au/ozri2010 for more information.
