GGP optimises fire safety inspections with route planning innovation

October 26, 2009 -- GGP Systems has launched an innovative route planner for UK fire and rescue services. Designed to reduce travelling times and costs and maximise the number of building inspections made by fire safety inspectors GGP Routing utilises the most up to date street maps to ensure optimal routing taking into account a range of user defined options, road network characteristics and other variables. GGP Routing will also help performance related planning and reporting by delivering the quickest, shortest and most efficient routes.

GGP Routing enables users to generate tailored routes, which may include a range of variables. Options include fastest route; taking into account user defined average road speeds, shortest route and multiple destinations together with vehicle type, weight and height restrictions and even function. GGP Routing can also be used to analyse travel distances and times generating coverage maps for applications such as distance from station for retained fire crew catchment analysis. Its overlapping mapping feature is also useful for allocating resources closest to demand facilitating responses to ad hoc requests.

“GGP Routing has been developed in conjunction with Fire and Rescue Services in the UK to help them improve their performance,” commented Tim Maxwell, Managing Director and Founder of GGP Systems. “It is therefore designed to meet their specific requirements and the needs of other emergency services. However, as a robust solution for optimal route generation; routing requirements can also meet other public sector needs such as education or hospital catchment area analysis, winter gritting services and waste and recycling collections to name just a few.”

GGP Routing is part of the GGP Response product portfolio developed for the Emergency Services. GGP Response is an innovative turnkey solution delivering powerful Gazetteer and GIS software, designed to provide Emergency Services with a comprehensive searching, data cleansing, filtering and reporting tool and mapping solution.

GGP Systems specialise in GIS and Gazetteer Management software specifically designed for the UK public sector. The South London based company provides easy to use solutions for the creation and management of corporate property databases, the ability to add and use a spatial element to all location based information and a range of solutions to meet t-Government directives.
