October 02, 2009 -- Snowflake Software demonstrates the value of future proof technology with newly released OS VectorMap™ Local at last week’s AGI community conference, saving customers unnecessary costs.
Snowflake Software showcased its two new product releases; GO Loader 1.6 and GO Publisher 1.4 at last week’s AGI Community conference, in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The enhanced versions of the company’s two core products provide an intuitive platform for organisations to realise the value of INSPIRE compliance in their data management, as well as future proof their existing technology infrastructure and eliminate the threat of unnecessary software development costs.
At the conference, Snowflake were able to demonstrate the power of their data exchange software by loading the new vector mapping product from Ordnance Survey, OS VectorMap™ Local. Snowflake’s GO Loader product was used in the testing process of the new Ordnance Survey product, the first new vector mapping product in over 3 years.
Peter ter Haar, Director of Products at Ordnance Survey commented:
“It is important that Ordnance Survey works with other companies to develop and evaluate our products and the feedback received from Snowflake is invaluable in the development of OS VectorMap Local.”, he continued “All Ordnance Survey products go through a stringent testing programme and we were pleased and impressed that Snowflake Software had already developed the technology to handle and trial the product.”
Whilst showcasing OS VectorMap™ Local through the existing Snowflake Software was of key importance at the conference, Snowflake also took the opportunity to demonstrate the latest capabilities of the new products, including the capacity to manage data in a choice of databases, and extending the reach of data by publishing into consumer mapping applications such as Bing™, Yahoo!™ or Google™.
For organisations that require additional support in understanding the complexities of the INSPIRE legislation, Snowflake has a dedicated INSPIRE section on their website and a tailored training programme to help client’s bridge the gap between initiative and implementation.
Existing customers with a valid maintenance and support contract can obtain these new versions at no additional cost through the Snowflake Support Centre. Organisations new to Snowflake’s products can obtain a fully supported 30 day evaluation by registering on the website.
