Sewall Company is pleased to announce the launch of ASGPipeline™ Generation 3.0, the newest version of Sewall’s industry-standard pipeline alignment generation software. Generation 3.0, to be commercially released in late 2009, introduces ASGPipeline™ Designer, an innovative graphical interface for fast, intuitive pipeline sheet layout and definition.

ASGPipeline Generation 3.0 maintains the best features of ASGPipeline™, including (1) compatibility with major GIS and asset management systems; (2) advanced white-space management, which eliminates manual editing and allows custom reporting; and (3) sheet generation in industry-standard formats.

The ASGPipeline Designer module introduces a design “canvas” and forms to streamline the sheet design and generation process. The canvas provides desktop tools and templates that assist the user in visualizing the layout of the alignment sheet. Pre-defined menus and lists enable the user to configure data origins and connections to the data source without requiring complex coding. Use of the new module reduces the time required to develop an alignment sheet layout by up to 75 percent.

The updated solution, compatible to older versions, includes a set of migration tools that read existing layout (.ini) files and saves the results into the new format. This functionality allows the user to maintain existing alignment sheet layouts, including multiple parallel lines, tabular data, and design insets. Leveraging the power of the new module, the user reduces the time required to update existing designs.
