Oce Business Services Highlights eDiscovery, Records Management and Document Imaging Solutions at the ILTA Conference

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Oce Business Services will demonstrate eDiscovery, records management and document imaging solutions at the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) conference as well as address topics covered at the show including: improving operational excellence with best practices and technology, paper and electronic records, and computer forensics.

CaseData Demonstration

At this year's conference, which runs August 23 - 27 at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center, experts from the Oce Records, Compliance and Legal Solutions division will demonstrate the company's CaseData ASP document review system, a Web-based tool that provides collaborative review and production of scanned paper and electronic files. CaseData provides advanced litigation management tools that include:

-- Concept Searching - While keyword searches return only content that
exactly matches the search phrase, concept searching identifies content
that is conceptually similar to the search phrase.
-- Enhanced Proximity Searching - This feature enables users to precisely
control the distance between keywords in their discovery searching.
-- Keyword Pre-highlighting - This capability enables reviewers to quickly
see why a document is relevant to a case without reading the entire
document to uncover significant issues or keywords.

Key Survey Findings

The executives at the Oce Business Services booth will also be available to detail key insights every legal professional should know about eDiscovery and records management. These findings were derived from a survey report recently issued by Oce: "The Discovery-Ready Enterprise III: Taking Steps to be Proactively Prepared." The report, which reflects responses from more than 100 legal professionals, indicates that corporations and law firms are taking important steps toward improving their eDiscovery preparedness and records management capabilities:

-- Steps Toward Proactive Preparedness - Corporate attorneys surveyed
indicate that the two top actions their organizations are taking toward
eDiscovery preparedness include implementing a discovery readiness
assessment analysis (26 percent) and creating an internal eDiscovery
team (26 percent). Law firm survey respondents say their firms are
taking several important steps to boost eDiscovery expertise and
preparedness in order to better serve clients. This includes cultivating
a combination of internal eDiscovery expertise and external expertise
with one or more service providers (56 percent).

-- Steps to Improve Records Management - A growing number of corporate
legal departments are "seeing the light" with respect to
        records management. In Oce's 2008 discovery-ready enterprise survey, 35
percent of in-house counsels surveyed indicated their organization
planned to implement a records management program within the next year.
In this year's survey, 42 percent of respondents say their company plans
to launch a program in the next 12 months. This finding suggests a
growing awareness of the importance of records management as a key
element in becoming a discovery-ready enterprise.
