Paris, 21st July 2009 - AeroGRID imagery of Germany, Britain and Benelux is now available through the ESRI ArcGIS Online data delivery website. The deal has been brokered by i-cubed, AeroGRID’s core partner in the US.
ESRI's ArcGIS Online Services include the Web application DataDoors for ArcGIS developed by i-cubed. Using DataDoors, GIS users can access and purchased aerial and satellite imagery, topographic maps, and terrain data data in any coordinate system and file format of their choice. Users can download the data as soon as it is processed.
“This channel exposes AeroGRID data to the broad community of ESRI users around the world allowing them to download original aerial imagery to their own computers within minutes using i-cubed’s renowned DataDoors ‘clip, zip and ship’ technology,” said Miles Taylor, AeroGRID’s General Manager.
The AeroGRID consortium operate 10 different survey aircraft and high-resolution digital cameras. Partners sell AeroGRID data within their own markets but all imagery is made available for purchase online. AeroGRID partners contribute aerial imagery data, and co-ordinate flying resources to their mutual benefit. New partners are welcome to join in order to extend coverage both in and beyond Europe to build the world’s largest commercial aerial imagery dataset.
