July 13, 2009 -- Carroll County has selected Applied Geographics, Inc. (AppGeo) to develop a county-wide GIS Web application that will present maps, aerial photography and property information. AppGeo will host the application for the County from its secure hosting facility.
“We selected AppGeo because they demonstrated that they could build us a high-quality custom-built site,” said Assistant Administrator, Nikki Shank. “We liked what we saw in other Web sites that they had created – a lot of functionality combined with ease of use.”
“This program along with the GIS Department in Carroll County, under the leadership of Emily Moberg, will allow us to make more intelligent data based decision making in the near future”, said County Administrator Gary Larrowe.
“We are pleased to have been selected by the County,” said Steve Anderson, GISP, Vice President of Business Development at AppGeo. “Based on our many years of experience developing GIS Web applications, including work for Albemarle County, VA, we are able to offer the County a wide range of Web mapping features and functions.”
