The Company completed the production of NEXTMap digital maps for all of Western Europe in May 2009. This agreement allows ESRI to provide its customers with the only uniformly accurate 3D digital elevation models and high-resolution orthorectified radar images for all of France and the rest of Western Europe.
According to Kevin Thomas, Intermap vice president of marketing, “This is a synergistic relationship for both parties. Combining ease of access to some of the most reliable and uniform digital elevation data with sophisticated GIS applications simplifies the end-user’s experience across a vast array of markets and industries. The superior suite of geospatial software offered by ESRI France, combined with our recent completion of the entire France dataset, is a win-win for everyone.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Intermap’s existing core datasets will be made available to ESRI France customers and solution providers through its network of six regional offices and its headquarters in Meudon. In addition, the agreements calls for the creation of market-specific geospatial solutions optimized for use with ESRI applications.
“Accurate 3D elevation data for GIS applications is vital to addressing the broad range of needs identified by our end users,” states Rony Gal, ESRI France CEO. “From telecom engineering to flood risk assessment, Intermap’s comprehensive database of countrywide geospatial datasets, combined with our broad expertise and advanced software tools, provides an outstanding value for every ESRI France customer.”
