Wellington, New Zealand, -- June 25, 2009 -- Surveylab today announced that it has joined ESRI's Business Partner Program. Building on several years of developing ikeGPS™ solutions that utilize ArcPad™ technology, Surveylab have taken this step to provide a more integrated ikeGPS offering with ESRI’s mobile GIS products, including ArcPad and ArcGIS™ Mobile.
ikeGPS has utilised ArcPad mobile GIS mapping software from the earliest product concepts. ESRI’s ArcPad allows mobile GIS users the freedom to create and implement customised workflow environments, and to integrate the mobile workspace directly to the desktop. Further, ikeGPS software tools are integrated into ArcPad, providing powerful solution opportunities for system designers.
A good example of this is the “Nunga Wali Spatial” project of the South Australian Department for Families and Communities (DFC), as described in Surveylab’s case study “Data Collection in Remote Communities”. ikeGPS allowed DFC staff to work independently across the thousands of kilometres of remote South Australia outback, whilst ensuring data verifiability and continuity through their integrated ArcPad-based mobile data capture solution.
“Becoming an ESRI Business Partner is an exciting move for Surveylab,” said Leon Toorenburg, Surveylab Founder and CEO. “We’ve always seen ArcPad as the most flexible and versatile mobile GIS solution and the obvious choice for us, and for users of our ikeGPS products. Becoming an ESRI Business Partner allows us to gain valuable insight into where they see mobile GIS technology going, and it allows Surveylab to work closer with ESRI on those future mobile GIS developments.”
“Surveylab is an innovative partner with a unique product in ikeGPS – a one-stop field device for data entry into an enterprise GIS,” said David Swann, Head of the GIS Business Unit at Eagle Technology Group, New Zealand’s official ESRI distributor. “We’re pleased to see new and inventive ESRI GIS solutions created using the class-leading ikeGPS product range.”
The ESRI Business Partner Program is a network of more than 2,000 domestic and international developers, consultants, data partners, and value-added resellers that, utilizing ESRI™ technology and provide solutions to meet the GIS needs of every industry. Working together, ESRI and its business partners solve business problems with new software applications, data, and value-added services.
