(June 22, 2009/Harrisburg, Pa.) Stephen A. Ellis, GISP, a vice president with GeoDecisions, has recently been elected to the board of directors of the Pennsylvania chapter of the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (PA-MAPPS) and was also elected to serve as its treasurer.
MAPPS is a national association of firms in the surveying, spatial data, and geographic information systems (GIS) field that develops strength and unity on matters affecting the interests of its member firms. Ellis is a founding member of PA-MAPPS and will serve a two year term on the board of directors and a one year term as its treasurer. He will also continue to serve as the membership chair for the organization.

Based in the firm's corporate headquarters in Harrisburg, Pa., Ellis is responsible for the management and development of information technology and GIS services for the Municipal Services and Engineering Support Practice. He has extensive experience in project development, execution, and management, as well as in leading the development of solutions for the enterprisewide delivery of spatial information.
Ellis is a certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) and holds a bachelor of science in mechanical and electrical engineering technologies from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Society of American Military Engineers, the Pennsylvania Mapping and Geographic Information Consortium, the International Institute of Business Analysts, the Intergraph GeoSpatial Users Community, and the Missouri Mappers Association. Ellis also serves as a technology committee member for the Virginia Association for Mapping and Land Information Systems.
