FOX International Channels (Japan) selected BatonTM for its newly launched multi-channel HD/SD simulcasting system designed and integrated by FOX to enable completely tapeless workflow from production through broadcasting. Content quality verification is an important part of this advanced network broadcasting system. This HD/SD simulcasting system is designed to transfer content between FOX’s headquarters in Shibuya, Tokyo and its operation center located in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
“With our operation being completely tapeless from production through to playout, Baton plays a critical role for us ensuring that the files we create in production contain no data errors that would possible cause a playout failure. Baton being a software-based solution is a perfect match for our server based system design, greatly simplifying system maintenance and management by doing away with any specialized hardware devices," commented Nathane Banks, Senior Vice President of Broadcast Operations Department at FOX International Channels (Japan).
"We are delighted to license our BatonTM content readiness solution to FOX International Channels (Japan). We hope our BatonTM system and the wide range of audio, video & container formats it supports will help FOX International Channels (Japan) to fulfill their file based SD and HD simultaneous multi-channel broadcasting workflows," commented Ashish Basu, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Interra Systems, Inc.
"FOX International Channels (Japan), a major content provider has decided to use BatonTM. We would like to support them to utilize BatonTM effectively for their operation. We hope this deployment will create more demand for file-based content verification, in line with the recent trend in digitalization of content and the start of IP Broadcasting like NGN in Japan. With engagements like these, we are aiming to provide total solution required for digital content delivery service," commented Yosuke Kaburagi, President and CEO of IT Access Co., Ltd.
BatonTM is an automated content verification system for file-based SD, HD, and mixed workflows. Supporting multiple codecs and media containers, Baton ensures quality control of media content before playout. BatonTM is highly flexible and can be quickly scaled for large facilities or high volume of content. As a hardware and O/S independent solution BatonTM can be easily integrated in a facilities' existing infrastructure. Baton's support for parallel processing enables convenient handling of increased verification load.
