Powered by NAVTEQ(R) map data, the NeverLost Fleet system combines the traditional fleet management and dispatching tasks (point naming, rerouting, resource tracking) with a full-featured driver navigation device. NeverLost Fleet utilizes a rugged, one-box unit in the vehicle, with two-way communication as well as a touch screen with tactile feedback enabling drivers to exchange information with dispatchers and the host application.
With the inclusion of NAVTEQ Traffic, NeverLost Fleet users will obtain information about road construction, the speed that traffic is moving and incidents such as accidents or sporting event- related traffic delays. Access to this information will allow the NeverLost Fleet user to make more informed routing and rerouting decisions to save time and money.
Weather information provides NeverLost Fleet users with current weather conditions and forecasts, as well as National Weather Service alerts including severe weather watches and warnings for nationwide coverage across the U.S. and Canada. The addition of this data allows NeverLost Fleet users to make informed driving decisions based on current, local weather conditions.
"The NeverLost Fleet application, with the combination of NAVTEQ mapping and NAVTEQ Traffic, will provide fleet customers with a route planning and navigation experience that provides real-world information at their fingertips," stated Dave Dale, vice president Americas Sales, NAVTEQ. "The announcement of NeverLost Fleet illustrates the shift towards additional information that makes for a more robust and efficient fleet management process ."
NAVTEQ will be featuring NAVTEQ Traffic, ADAS and ADAS MPE demonstrations in Booth # 82 at Telematics Update along with Navigation Solutions' demonstration of NeverLost Fleet. In addition to the in-booth demonstrations, NAVTEQ will be participating in three panel discussions hosted by Telematics Update: "Cutting-Edge V2X Applications Explained" with Bob Denaro, vice president ADAS, NAVTEQ; "Benefitting from the Local Fleet Tracking Market" with Bill DeMarco, senior account executive--Mobile Resource Management, NAVTEQ; and "Unlock the Power of Next-Generation Maps" with Stuart Ryan, director--North American Products, NAVTEQ.
