Lorienne announces its major version LorikSoftware 2.0 introducing new opportunities for map publication.

Montreuil, France — May 25, 2009 — Lorienne releases the new version of its LorikSoftware suite of cartographic programs. The redesign of LorikSoftware 2.0 is the result of more than one year of development to anticipate technologic and market changes. For this purpose LorikSoftware comes now in two ranges of programs to meet the current trends of cartography.

For cartographic production, LorikMapFactory provides a full autonomous workflow solution to create,manage and update cartographic assets up to prepress. In the GIS database publication field, LorikGISPublishing adds its high cartographic quality to the GIS information including layout, prepress or webmapping.

Both ranges cover all issues faced by the map industry:

• production of cartographic databases
• cost effective publication of GIS data
• automatic web mapping production
• revival of traditional cartographic assets

LoriKSoftware 2.0 brings many enhancements to the existing functions while proposing new tools and programs.

Data sharing with GIS systems is now possible with the capability to store data into an Oracle or PostgreSQL database. Huge data volumes can be now managed using all database storage benefits.

Rich Content Management stored as additional Attribute Tables comes now in standard. As in GIS programs one can either connect to existing tables or create its own content.

Adobe9 GeoPDF with full support of layers offers new opportunities for digital map publication and exchange. In addition, LorikSoftware 2.0 includes new layout-related functions to improve and ease atlases and guides creation.

Google compatibility is offered with the KML export among other capabilities. Other digital publication can be achieved thanks to the compatibility with the OpenLayer package. Moreover the flexibility of LorikSoftware 2.0 makes web outputs compliant with any web map server.
