Bonzai3d Introduced at AIA 2009

Rated A for Architecture

April 29, 2009 --
AutoDesSys is pleased to announce the introduction of bonzai3d, at AIA 2009 in San Frencisco. Bonzai3d is an application with a fresh approach to 3D modeling aimed at delivering conceptual design and sketching ideas quickly and easily, but also making it possible to carry them to the next level of productivity by utilizing bonzai3d’s robust geometry and power to obtain models that can be used for construction drawings, can be smoothly rendered and fabricated.

Bonzai3d has embraced the evolution of hardware and software, and capitalizes on the technological standards that reflect and define the way today’s designers work and manage their workflow challenges. It accommodates the progression from simple intuitive visualizations to a mature level of design sophistication while keeping in mind efficiency, productivity and affordability. More than 20 file formats provide easy interoperability with other applications.

“Bonzai3d’s biggest asset is its development at the core of the application”, said Chris Yessios, president of AutoDesSys. “It is not simply easy to use and affordable, but it relies on very sophisticated algorithms and operations, such a Booleans, that give it speed, elegance and reliability, to sketch on the fly but also sustain the design elements that allow the architect, or any designer as a matter of fact, to progress his or her project to the highest level of operation and even 3D printing.”

Bonzai3d’s simple, smart, and fun interface reveals unexpected capabilities and tools that complement and enhance creativity. Embedded tutorial videos facilitate the learning at one’s own pace and without the need for expensive training sessions. Intuitive tools include descriptive step-by-step guides and interface hints for a productive workflow. The bonzai3d forum is set up to provide a valuable resource from peers who deal with the daily tests of real life projects. In addition, the AutoDesSys technical support team stands by to offer its help as needed. Bonzai3d will be offered at US $500, but AIA attendees can get it at the on site show special for $299.

Bonzai3d is available for Macintosh and Windows operating systems. A fully functional trial version can be downloaded at www.bonzai3d.com.
