Vero Software (Hall 1, M42), a leading provider of CAD/CAM/CAE solutions for the tooling industry, will present the first viewing of its flagship product VISI17 during Plastic Design & Moulding 2009 (PDM 09). Due for release in June, version 17 is a substantial release with many new features in all areas of the product with further emphasis on the integration of plastic flow simulation into a real CAD environment.
VISI Flow uses a patented hexahedral hybrid mesh technology to provide accurate results with analyses run directly from the CAD model. Benefits include limited or no model preparation and the inclusion of feeding and cooling channels to the calculation. Importantly, the channel definition includes both geometrical and thermal proprieties. Along with gas-assist, sequential, and co-injection moulding simulations, VISI Flow also offers simulation for over-moulding and cross-linking polymers including liquid silicone rubbers.
VISI Mould also benefits from the technology collaboration with the inclusion of a combined material database with over 7,000 materials defined. Model shrinkage, based on material and other flow properties are automatically attached to the model ready for filling simulation. A new tool for Runners and Gate design provides the designer with a new way to define the injection circuit. The designer can select the type of gate from a parametric library and trace the channel sequence back to the sprue bush or hot runner with the result automatically validated for flow analysis.
CAD enhancements include model thickness analysis, body and face mating, mesh manipulation tools and major speed improvements after collaboration with ATI and NVidia.
CAM enhancements include the separation of toolpath passes & linking, incremental stock and further improvements to 3 + 2 and multi axis machining.
