FAIRFIELD, N.J.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 23, 2009— Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the world's leading document solutions companies, and Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technologies, have entered into a multi-year global licensing agreement for Kyocera’s new TASKalfa® 500ci series of Color Multifunctional Products (MFP).
The agreement between Pantone and Kyocera Mita America will add specialized color control capabilities to all four of the TASKalfa 500ci series models, in order to allow enterprise users to generate professional-grade documents and collateral materials with PANTONE® Color matching capabilities.
“Partnering with Pantone delivers extraordinary new end-user color capabilities to our TASKalfa 500ci color MFP series,” said Peter Hendrick, vice president, Marketing, Kyocera Mita America. “As a company, we are committed to offering the finest document imaging quality and consistency, combined with our industry-leading ultra-reliability and low total cost of ownership (TCO) to enable our customers to capture the vibrant and consistent color that today’s businesses demand. The TASKalfa 500ci series was created with the goal of providing organizations with high quality color solutions and our agreement with Pantone takes these offerings to the next level.”
Introduced in December 2008, the TASKalfa 500ci color MFP series delivers high-performance, high-quality and unparalleled reliability in four models ranging from 25 to 40 color pages per minute (ppm) and 25 to 50 black ppm, respectively.
“We are very pleased to work with Kyocera Mita to bring accurate PANTONE Color reproduction capabilities to its new line of imaging systems,” said Andy Hatkoff, vice president of OEM and Technology Licensing, Pantone. “Pantone’s expertise in color is a terrific match to Kyocera’s excellence in engineering. The resultant benefit to end-users will be the ability to accurately reproduce logos and brand colors, as well as improve all their printed business communications with better color matching.”
Color testing is expected to conclude within the next few months. Upon final results, Kyocera will publish its PANTONE Color Palette, or reference chart, of the colors optimized by Pantone for Kyocera’s TASKalfa series. This information will be made available on the company’s public website.
