The new Trimble electric cooperative utility customers include:
Blachly-Lane County Cooperative Electric Association, Inc. located in Eugene, Oregon. Blachly-Lane selected the Trimble UtilityCenter uaField(TM) module to put the utility's GIS at field workers' fingertips, and the uaFM(TM) module to provide core GIS and asset management functionality in the office. The new solution will allow them to distribute GIS data and interface with the company's Customer Information System (CIS) to support workflow for utility billing, accounting, engineering, and operations.
Continental Divide Electric Cooperative, Inc. located in Grants, New Mexico, is transitioning to Trimble's UtilityCenter software from their previous vendor. Continental Divide chose UtilityCenter to integrate their map data into their day-to-day workflows and eliminate some problematic interfaces. They are using UtilityCenter's uaField module for field design, a viewing tool with redlining capabilities for field workers, and the uaFM module for ESRI desktop users in the office. The solution also interfaces to the utility's CIS.
Harney Electric Cooperative, Inc. based in Burns, Oregon, selected Trimble UtilityCenter to improve their data management. Harney Electric began utilizing Trimble's handheld devices for data collection to meet requirements from the local Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to provide data about the accurate location of electric poles on BLM land. They have subsequently selected the uaField and uaFM modules of Trimble's UtilityCenter software suite to make better use of their asset data and enhance their decision making process. Harney Electric plans to integrate with their CIS in the future.
The Trimble UtilityCenter software provides a comprehensive suite of GIS- based workflow solutions designed to automate the daily business operations of utilities from outage management and work order tracking to updating GIS maps while in the field. The technology is fully scalable, cost-effective and able to meet the diverse needs of utilities. The Trimble UtilityCenter software includes application modules for utility desktop GIS mapping, mobile GIS and field staking, asset maintenance tracking, and outage management. Through an integrated desktop, Web and mobile platform, Trimble UtilityCenter provides utility office and field employees with a complete visual solution for managing assets, customers and mobile resources.
"We are extremely pleased that the customer commitment of Blachly-Lane, Continental Divide, and Harney Electric has led to the selection of the Trimble UtilityCenter solution. UtilityCenter will facilitate improved customer service, greater efficiency in the utilization of GIS data, and more effective management and maintenance of utility assets to improve the overall efficiency of daily operations," said Katherine Sandford, general manager of Trimble's Utilities Field Solutions Group.
Trimble's UtilityCenter software is currently used by more than 100 electric, gas, water and wastewater utilities throughout the U.S. Trimble's Utilities Field Solutions group specializes in implementing enterprise mobile workforce, computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), asset management, field data collection, staking and inspection solutions for electric, gas, water/wastewater and solid waste utilities. Trimble's UtilityCenter, Fieldport(R), and Utility Fleet Manager(TM) enterprise solutions automate utility operations which can lead to increased field worker productivity, enhanced customer service and faster emergency response.
