Beaverton, OR – March 2, 2009 – Axium, a leading developer of project management and accounting software for architectural and engineering firms (A/E), is pleased to announce that it was named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon” by Oregon Business magazine. From 372 companies that entered the annual survey, the list was divided into three categories; small, medium and large, the medium-size category was the largest with 136 entries. Of those 136 companies Axium, in its first showing on the 100 Best, ranked 17th on the list.
More than 30,000 employees from companies across the state filled out confidential surveys to participate in this year’s 100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon award. Seventy-seven percent of Axium employees filled out the survey – a significant response, with the average participation at 42 percent.
“The happiness of our employees is paramount to the success of our clients and our company,” said Cathy Mills, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. “This award is a testament to our dedication in building and encouraging a culture that focuses on excellence, fun, innovation and teamwork.”
Oregon Business has conducted the annual study of best practices for the last 16 years. The survey has two parts — a satisfaction survey completed by employees and a benefits survey submitted by company management. Rankings are derived from scores of both parts of the survey, with the employee survey counting for 5/6 of the total score, and the benefit survey counting for the remaining 1/6 of the total score. The 100 Best list recognizes 33 large companies, defined as those with 250 or more employees, 34 medium companies with 50-249 employees and 33 small companies with 15-49 employees, for excellence the following areas: benefits and compensation, work environment; decision-making and trust; performance management; and career development and learning.
