Nominations for the 10th Annual Marie R. Pistilli Women in Electronic Design Automation Achievement Open Until April 10

LOUISVILLE, Colo.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—February 25, 2009— The 46th Design Automation Conference (DAC), the electronic design automation (EDA) industry’s premier event, announced today that nominations for the Marie R. Pistilli Women in EDA Achievement Award will be accepted until Friday, April 10. This annual award, named for Marie R. Pistilli, the former organizer of DAC, recognizes individuals who have helped to advance women in the EDA industry. This year’s honoree will be presented the award during the Workshop for Women in Design Automation (WWINDA) on Monday, July 27, during the 46th DAC. Registration for WWINDA and DAC will open in April. The 46th DAC will be held July 26-31 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

“The Marie R. Pistilli Award provides an opportunity each year to acknowledge and honor the considerable contributions of women to the EDA industry,” said Karla Reynolds, chair of this year’s WWINDA committee. “We look forward to reviewing this year’s entries and encourage people to nominate someone they know who has helped to advance women in EDA.”

Marie R. Pistilli award nominees are individuals who have made notable contributions through their work that helped to advance women in the EDA industry. This could be demonstrated by playing a leadership role in the launch or management of a successful product that involved contributions from women or created opportunities for women in the EDA industry. Award nominees may also be leaders within a company or organization who have helped raise the awareness of women or served as a mentor or role model for successful women in the EDA industry. The award is open to men and women in industry or academia with technical or non-technical backgrounds. For additional information on the award, including previous recipients and nomination forms, visit the DAC Web site at http://www.dac.com/46th/mrpaward.html.

About DAC

The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and silicon solutions. A diverse worldwide community representing more than 1,500 organizations attends each year, from system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives to researchers and academicians from leading universities. Close to 60 technical sessions selected by a committee of electronic design experts offer information on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. A highlight of DAC is its Exhibition and Suite area with approximately 200 of the leading and emerging EDA, silicon, IP and design services providers. The conference is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Design Automation (ACM/SIGDA), the Circuits and Systems Society and Council on Electronic Design Automation of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE/CASS/CEDA) and the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDA Consortium).
