New Offices Will Also House a Training Center for Geographic Information System Software Users
Redlands, California — January 22, 2009 — ESRI, the world’s leading developer of geographic information system (GIS) technology, continues to grow with the Johnstown, Pennsylvania, satellite office’s recent move into a larger building.
The new offices at 1407 Eisenhower Boulevard, Suite 200, in Johnstown are home to a team of 14 ESRI project managers and software developers who use current and emerging geospatial tools and technologies to work on a diverse range of challenging, defense-related projects. The larger building will give ESRI the ability to increase the team’s size in the future and open a new training center for GIS software users.
“We knew the first office we were in was just temporary,” says Dan Slavick, technical manager for the Johnstown office. “The new office is much larger, which is a necessity, as we are looking to grow our staff.”
The training center, scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2009, will offer introductory and advanced courses in how to use ESRI’s ArcGIS software including ArcGIS Server. “Our new expanded Johnstown facility will allow us to better support users in western Pennsylvania and our neighboring states,” says Jim Higgins, regional manager for ESRI’s Philadelphia office. "Software users have often had to go to ESRI’s offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or Columbus, Ohio, to take classes. This will reduce the travel time and overall cost to attend training for many of our users and provide better access to ESRI instructor-led training.” For course offerings, visit

The Johnstown satellite office has been added to the list of work locations on ESRI’s Careers Web site at
