Kim Lighting Releases "Arms & Poles Selection Guide" for Architects, Lighting Designers and Specifiers

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Jan 12, 2009 -- Kim Lighting, a leading manufacturer of outdoor architectural lighting, announced today the availability of its "Arms & Poles Selection Guide" for architects, lighting designers and specifiers. The new guide illustrates dozens of arm and pole combinations that can be used when designing outdoor architectural lighting, thereby reducing much of the anxiety associated with creating customized luminaires.

To further assist architects and building professionals and reduce the uncertainty of customized lighting even more, Kim Lighting offers the Online Luminaire Configurator. The Luminaire Configurator is a free Web-based tool that enables the user to select the fixture, arm and mount, pole and base of a lighting product and see what the combination of elements will look like. Users can mix and match, selecting different parts to create the look that works best for their projects. The tool also offers a selection of stock backgrounds from which to choose, or users can upload their own digital photo backgrounds to see how their finished design will blend with its actual environment. The Luminaire Configurator can be accessed at www.KimLighting.com, and no user names or passwords are required.

"Architects and planners want to ensure that their lighting decisions reflect the right look and feel, based on the function, location and unique needs of their particular project," said Bill Foley, vice president and general manager of Kim Lighting. "Our new 'Arms & Poles Selection Guide' and the Online Luminaire Configurator are two valuable tools from Kim Lighting that will greatly ease the process of selecting the right style, finish and design to eliminate any surprises."

Both tools reinforce Kim Lighting's Theory of Relativity, which shows how a complete design solution, from parking lot to building, can be constructed with a coordinated design and to a proper scale. Detail, performance and proportion all combine to integrate outdoor lighting with site architecture.

Kim Lighting is the world's foremost designer and manufacturer of quality, high-performance outdoor architectural and landscape lighting products. These include roadway, pedestrian, low-level and building-mounted solutions for contemporary or traditional commercial, industrial and institutional applications.
