LEUVEN, Belgium, December 03, 2008 - Capvidia announces the release of FormatWorks 2009 product suite supporting SolidWorks 2009. The new configurations include FormatWorks 2009 Standard, FormatWorks 2009 Professional, FormatWorks Server, and FormatWorks 2009 Ultimate. FormatWorks a Certified Gold Product is designed to address the most challenging 3D CAD translation issues. It has extended support of native CAD data formats (CATIA V5, V4, UGX, Pro/E, etc.) and special repair tools to simplify the workflows for importing single parts or large complex assemblies into SolidWorks.


New features include:

Support of latest Native CAD formats revisions
FormatWorks 2009 supports the latest revisions of native formats (CATIA V5 up to R19, Pro/E Wildfire 4, UG 18 NX5, Inventor 12, Parasolid 20, CATIA 4.2.4 and many others) and widens range of supported entities for neutral formats like STEP, IGES and VDA-FS.

PMI support for native CATIA V5, Pro/E and UGX
Extended support of PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) from native CATIA V5, Pro/E and UGX provide direct access to manufacturing information stored together with the 3D data.


Preview and Selective translation
The Preview-Select-Translate feature has been further optimized to offer maximum performance for reading large, complex parts and assemblies. After preview of the entire model the user chooses the parts to be imported to SolidWorks. This work flow provides an ideal solution when working with large native parts and complex assemblies.


Batch translation with 3D Model Diagnosis
The Batch mode feature has been significantly enhanced. The batch translation process is controlled from a single window providing the following options:
Add files and folders for batch translation
Monitor and control the batch translation process
Diagnose the quality of the data being translated
Analyze results with graphics visualization
Report 3D model inconsistencies
These features give SolidWorks user unprecedented automation and control over the translation process, simplifying and automating translation of large and complex CAD data sets.

Multi-core processing
The entire FormatWorks 2009 product suite now supports parallel processing giving SolidWorks users a significant performance boost (50% for Dual Core Processors).


64-bit version
FormatWorks 2009 products are available in 32- or 64-bit versions.
FormatWorks 2009 Ultimate is a web-based CAD data translation solution supporting all CAD data formats over Capvidia data translation server. You don’t need to buy expensive data translators for each specific CAD data format. You have simply access to all of them. Your SolidWorks seat will not be tied up during data translation; you just start the translation process while continuing to perform your normal SolidWorks activities.

FormatWorks 2009 Standard is a classic solution which you can configure with data translators of your choice.
