(Nov. 19, 2008/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology industry specializing in geospatial solutions, has been selected by Fairfax County, Va., to provide planimetric and Digital Terrain Model (DTM) updates to the county’s enterprise geographic information system (GIS). Fairfax County’s GIS supports a wide range of applications and services, including public safety, transportation, utilities infrastructure, tax assessment, economic and land use planning, developmental activities, schools, and management of data related to engineering purposes.
GeoDecisions, in cooperation with Fugro EarthData, will provide the planimetric and DTM updates to enable greater efficiency, productivity, and decision making capabilities at all levels of county administration and operations. The project will initiate with a pilot area, and the project will continue through 2009.
