Technology Demonstrated
KUKA will display the innovative KR 15 SL, the only articulated robot made exclusively of stainless steel on all surfaces, in a simulated meat handling application. The KR 15 SL has one of the highest IP ratings of 67, making it suitable for all fields of application with stringent requirements to hygiene, sterility and absence of particles; making the KR 15 SL suitable not only for the foodstuffs industry, but also Pharmaceutical and Medical applications.
For deep freeze palletizing environments KUKA will show the KR 180-2 PA Arctic. The KR 180-2 PA Arctic is the first robot specifically designed for applications in deep freeze environments with no compromise in performance. The KR 180-2 PA Arctic operates in temperature down to -30 degrees C without the need for bags or heaters, thus reducing operating expense for the freezer room environment.
Equipped with patented tooling provided by FLEXiCELL, KUKA will demonstrate a high speed portion cup packaging cell utilizing a KR 50 PA robot. The KR 50 PA’s payload of 50kg, long reach and compact, light weight innovative carbon fiber arm design allow this 2-axis robot to perform simple operations in picking and packaging applications where the transfer of product in production lines at maximum speeds is critical.
The KUKA solution for medium payload bag palletizing, the KR 40 PA will be displayed. The small footprint of the KR 40 PA allows for a high speed robotic bag palletizing solutions where limited floor space is available. The high speed carbon fiber arm design of the KR 40 PA makes it the ideal robot for both palletizing and packaging applications. For higher payload palletizing, KUKA also offers the KR 100-2 PA and the KR 180-2 PA. The KR 180-2 PA offers some of the highest motion speeds, and fastest cycle times, in its class.
At Pack Expo, KUKA announces its new Food Series of products. The Food Series option is available on multiple KUKA robots. KUKA Food Series robots will offer IP-65 protection rating, food grade oil in the robot reducers, USDA certifiable paint and a stainless steel robot control cabinet. At Pack Expo, KUKA will display a KR 210 in a food series configuration.
