November 06, 2008 -- Toronto, Canada – Optech Incorporated, the leading manufacturer of advanced lidar survey instruments, announced today that it has appointed OPT Technologies, Tokyo, to represent the ALTM airborne laser terrain mapper line of products in Japan.
For the past year, Optech has been represented by OPT Technologies for the ILRIS-3D line of terrestrial scanners. As a result of OPT’s ongoing initiative and success, this representation has been expanded to include the ALTM airborne products. The 3100EA, Gemini and Orion models of these airborne laser terrain mappers are internationally recognized as the most advanced in the market.
“We are proud to be recognized by Optech as a valued business partner,” stated Terry Morita, President of OPT Technologies. “Our focus remains to best serve existing Optech customers while increasing brand recognition and market penetration.”
Brent Gelhar, Optech’s Vice President, Sales and Product Strategy, said, “We have had very successful growth even during a difficult time in Japan's economy. This has shown Terry and his team’s dedication and resolve to succeed.”
Optech clients in Japan have been operating ALTM airborne mappers, SHOALS bathymeters, ILRIS-3D terrestrial scanners, and CMS cavity monitoring systems for over 10 years.
