“High-quality digital images from the DMC are in high demand among our client base,” said Richard Crouse, president, Richard Crouse & Associates. “This demand alone justifies and necessitates our purchase of a second DMC, which will enable us to complete more projects in a faster timeframe. Additionally, our camera operators appreciate the reliability and flexibility of the DMC, which allows them to capture high-quality digital images efficiently and with ease.”
Richard Crouse & Associates was the first acquisition-only firm to purchase a DMC. Up until then, the camera had been used only by integrated aerial survey and mapping firms. “The firm’s purchase of a second DMC demonstrates that owners of this camera can achieve significant return on investment from the acquisition and delivery of aerial images alone,” said Klaus Neumann, camera systems product manager for Intergraph. “In addition to Richard Crouse & Associates, many of our other customers have also purchased multiple DMCs, further demonstrating the significant returns that can be gained from this camera.”
The Intergraph DMC was the industry’s first large-format frame digital aerial camera and the first to be certified by the United States Geological Survey. It is the only digital camera used by Richard Crouse & Associates. Both of the company’s DMCs are equipped with Intergraph’s innovative Solid State Disk (SSD) storage technology, the industry’s first airborne SSD, which significantly decreases camera weight and footprint.
In addition to the cameras, Richard Crouse & Associates also utilizes Intergraph’s Z/I Mount and Z/I Inflight technologies. Z/I Mount is a stabilized camera mount that compensates for angular aircraft movements during photo flights, empowering users to take highly accurate images even in challenging flight conditions. The Z/I Inflight flight management system streamlines photo flight operations by integrating several peripheral devices into one ruggedized hardware cabinet and allowing users to interface with a wide variety of sensors during the flight, significantly boosting the efficiency of missions.
