JETCAM post-Fabtech Review 2008

JETCAM International received a healthy turnout of visitors at their booth at Fabtech International, in Las Vegas from October 6th to 8th, with an increase of both leads and orders taken at the show.

October 13, 2008 - Despite concerns about the economy and many predicting possible purchasing decision delays because of the forthcoming election, JETCAM saw an increase in interest in several key areas. Enquiries at the booth were up 17% over Fabtech 2007.

Mike Weber, Managing Director from JETCAM International s.a.r.l. said; “Although companies are tightening their belts they still have to maintain their competitive edge, so the forward looking CEOs are still looking at investments that will cut overall costs. JETCAM has continued to be successful because we are able to provide a clear demonstration of return on investment in three key areas – material utilization, machine runtime and programming time.”

Mike Dixon from NestOne Solutions, who fronted the JETCAM presence at Fabtech added; “We are also noticing a trend of companies moving away from the ‘one supplier for both hardware and software’ approach and concentrating on buying the right product for the specific job. Many of the visitors to the booth had several CAM systems, each only able to drive one brand of machine in their factory. This resulted in separate camps of staff trained on different systems, which caused problems during vacation and sickness. Also, each CAM system had its own weaknesses, which meant that they were not getting the best out of their machines.”

JETCAM demonstrated the latest version of their Expert CADCAM and nesting software, along with order management and complete automation and integration into MRP systems, covering all cutting technologies including punching, laser, plasma, routing, waterjet, oxyfuel and composite sonic knife cutters. JETCAM was also either demonstrated or referenced on the Finn-Power, Pullmax, OMAX and InspecVision booths.
