The MC502ER supports VGA (640Hx480V) resolution leveraging an advanced low noise pixel process implemented using MagnaChip's 0.13 micrometer CIS process technology. The high quantum efficiency and low read noise enable a Signal to Noise ratio (SNR) that is over 15 dB better than the performance available for typical sensors in the market today. With the launch of this new image sensor, MagnaChip enhances its product portfolio for the growing markets that require exceptional imaging performance in low light situations.
MagnaChip's MC502ER also supports ITU-R BT.656 parallel video interface with MagnaChip's specialized low EMI technology. The MC502ER goes beyond standard Bayer RGB devices by offering on chip pixel correction. These sophisticated signal processing blocks enhance image sensor performance and ease system integration. The MC502ER requires minimal external components and is optimized for low power consumption. The device can operate from a single 2.8V or a dual 2.8V and 1.8V power supply.
Robert Krakauer, President of MagnaChip, said, "We are pleased to offer our customers unique products that take their image quality to new levels. Our investment in advanced pixel technologies, along with our custom fabrication processes for CMOS sensors, ensures that we deliver leading image quality. We expect to fully leverage our technological advantage in providing excellent low light performance and other product features to become a leader in the CMOS imager market."
The MC502ER will be in mass production in Q3 of 2008. MagnaChip has a complete suite of demonstration systems and reference designs to support end product development. For more detail product information, please see our website at www.magnachip.com or contact your local MagnaChip sales office.
