The MOSFET product series is for lithium ion battery packs and battery modules of mobile handsets. The series allows customers to save overall system costs by minimizing required board space. The series offers a wide range of available packaging options to meet the various needs of global customers. Further, optimized Ron resistance and gate charges increase battery life, and the MOSFETs' common drain structure allows for easy system design.
MagnaChip expects to start mass production in April 2008, supplying these solutions to customers worldwide.
Sang Park, Chairman and CEO of MagnaChip, commented, "We are delighted to announce the launch of our power solutions products. We are finding that our system level understanding of applications and strong customer relationships in Asia allow us to quickly develop and customize power management products vs. other competitors in this market. These products, featuring power saving technology, are timely due to the increasing market requirements for 'green' solutions. The launch of these products is part of our overall strategy to leverage our leading analog and mixed signal technology platform to expand our market opportunity and meet more of our customers' needs."
