San Jose, Calif., March 20, 2008 – Silicon Canvas, developer of the Laker suite of high-performance software for custom integrated circuit (IC) design, and a long-time Synopsys® in-Sync partner, today announced that Silicon Canvas has joined the newly formed Synopsys HSPICE® Integrator Program as a founding member. The program supports EDA tool interoperability and improved custom IC design flows.
Silicon Canvas’ Laker Analog Design Platform (ADP) for front-end design and schematic entry includes a simulation control console with easy access to a comprehensive list of world-class simulators like the HSPICE simulation solution and integration with the Synopsys WaveView Analyzer.
“We are committed to supporting interoperable custom design tools and collaborating with leading EDA companies to improve our customers’ productivity,” said Richard Morse, Director of Marketing for Silicon Canvas. “We will work more closely with Synopsys and use the HSPICE Integrator Program to add additional, advanced functionality.
Silicon Canvas’ commitment to interoperability extends to memberships in most of the major EDA partner programs and its own Laker Links partner program. These programs allow Silicon Canvas’ to be part of several best-in-class analog, mixed-signal and custom-digital design flows. Laker partner integrations include major schematic editors, simulators, physical verification, routers and tools for Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Data Management, and Critical-Area Analysis (CAA).
Silicon Canvas is also a founding member along with Synopsys of the Interoperable Pcell Library Initiative (IPL) which promotes standards for interoperability in analog and custom digital design.
About HSPICE Integrator
Synopsys, Inc. has just launched (March 11, 2008) its HSPICE Integrator Program to further promote integration between Synopsys’ HSPICE simulation solution and other electronic design automation (EDA) products. The HSPICE Integrator Program enables qualified EDA vendors to integrate their products with the de facto standard HSPICE simulator, HSPICE RF simulator, and WaveView Analyzer. In addition, HSPICE integrator members like Silicon Canvas have access to HSPICE integrator application programming interfaces (APIs). Collaboration between Silicon Canvas and Synopsys through the HSPICE Integrator Program enables Silicon Canvas customers to achieve more thorough design verification in a shorter period of time from the improvements offered by inter-company EDA design solutions.
