March 11, 2008 -- Goldsboro, N.C. – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) continues its lead as a GIS provider to local government with their newly released GeoBlade Search & Rescue application.
GeoBlade Search & Rescue is just one of a family of “blades” incorporated into the GeoBlade toolset. Blades are additional functionalities to the core viewer, specific to an agency’s departmental needs.
GeoBlade Search & Rescue is designed to aid in search and rescue missions, providing a host of capabilities including incident staging, location plotting, and tracking accountability. The application can also assist in the recognition of potential environmental contamination.
GeoBlade Search & Rescue consists of two user modes, field and management. It also features a plume generation tool for chemical-based fires, as well as both zone and a grid search managers and trackers.
“Accountability is essential when it comes to Search & Rescue,” said Jason Cope, Land and Web Products Manager at GTG. “When performing a search and rescue mission, time is of the essence, whether it’s finding a missing person or identifying potential environmental contamination. The hasty search tracker and historic reporting capability of Search & Rescue, among other vital capabilities, provide the necessary tools needed by any emergency services department.”
