SANTA CLARA, Calif., February 25, 2008—Blue Pearl Software, Inc. announced that it is
exhibiting its productivity improvement suite of tools at Magma’s MUSIC users conference which
takes place on the 27th and 28th of February at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Cobalt Timing Constraint Generation is the spotlight of their exhibit, showing how the
automatically generated timing constraints have been integrated into Magma’ design flow. The
tight integration makes using Cobalt with Magma’s flow completely seamless for the designer. By
using Cobalt to generate the timing exceptions before synthesis, designers save themselves
many iterations through the design flow as they usually define timing exception constraints for
paths failing to meet timing at static timing analysis. By identifying these constraints early, a better
quality of results is achieved with the initial synthesis run. Cobalt reduces the time required to
achieve timing closure and improves quality of results (QoR) by automatically generating false
and multi-cycle path timing constraints.
Blue Pearl Software’s Suite of Engineering Productivity Tools
Cobalt Timing Constraint Generation is the industry leading product in Blue Pearl’s suite of
engineering productivity enhancement tools. Other products are Indigo RTL Analysis—currently
used by many leading edge electronics and semiconductor companies—and Blue Pearl
Software’s Azure Timing Constraint Validation software. Azure is based on new technology that
automatically verifies existing SDC timing-exception constraints, and will be available later this
year. Blue Pearl Software tools are developed to work together seamlessly in a single executable
program with a user-friendly environment.
