As part of the Laker Links program, integrating EDA solutions to provide better interoperability and design flow for mutual customers, the companies teamed to develop a seamless interface to let Intellectual Property (IP) designers address CAA in an actionable manner during the creation of different IP elements, including standard cells, custom IP blocks, and memories. As CAA is both statistical and contextual in nature it has been difficult for designers to take specific measurable actions to reduce CAA issues. Ponte's YA System overcomes this by detailing prioritized CAA hot spots, to ensure the most critical CAA effects as predicted by certified defect kits provided by the leading foundries, are identified and corrected.
Laker is the next generation full custom layout tool. In addition to classical polygon editing features, it provides intelligent automation and intuitive guidance to make layout creation and editing tasks much more efficient. Laker's Magic Cells(TM), real-time DRC/LVS, built-in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) features, and other controllable automation features offer the quality that custom layout designers need as well as deliver the productivity today's market demands.
"DFM issues must be tackled early to increase the likelihood of first silicon success, and that means doing DFM analysis at the IP level," said Michael Buehler-Garcia, Ponte vice president of marketing and business development. "Today's announcement, giving designers predictable, actionable CAA analysis within a premier tool like Laker makes IP-level DFM a reality."
"The objective of our Laker Links program is to work with technology leaders like Ponte to deliver best-in-class flows to mutual customers," said Richard Morse, director of marketing for Silicon Canvas. "Ponte's YA System offers Laker users multiple levels of DFM analysis that allows them to adjust their layouts based upon quantifiable risks and measurable benefits."
