LSI Networking Standardizes on VaST

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 20, 2007— The LSI Networking group has achieved substantial performance improvements on new devices using VaST virtual prototyping solutions. The VaST tools help analyze and optimize the architectures of microprocessor based systems and now are the preferred solution for architecture analysis and pre-silicon software development for the LSI Networking group.

Using VaST candidate architectures can be quickly created and tested against performance goals using the actual software applications. This allows more optimal design of the processing elements, bus topology, and subsystem. As a result of this success, LSI will standardize on VaST's technology for current and future designs in the Networking group.

"Before committing we performed extensive analysis of the performance and accuracy of VaST tools and found VaST superior to our alternative tools on both fronts. This solution has changed the way we analyze architectures and develop software. Because the virtual prototype has better performance and visibility, we are more productive in software development prior to HW availability and even use the virtual prototype after silicon availability," said Gene Scuteri, VP of Network Components Group of LSI.

"VaST's tools support the complete embedded system design flow from architecture to software development. LSI's success is further evidence of how industry leaders are rapidly deploying virtual prototyping, and standardizing on VaST," said Jeff Roane vice president of marketing of VaST Systems.

About VaST

VaST Systems Technology Corporation solutions enable the creation of a virtual system prototype -- a highly accurate software model of a system that operates at near real-time speeds under actual software loads. VaST's solutions are OSCI SystemC-compliant and are used for architecture, hardware, and software design. VaST solutions dramatically improve time to market and quality while reducing development costs and risk.

Current customers include worldwide leaders in semiconductors, automotive electronics, wireless devices, and consumer electronics. VaST is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with sales and support offices worldwide. For more information, visit www.vastsystems.com.
