Claritas Puts Customer, Site And Market Anaylsis On The 'Map' With Latest Major Upgrade To Its Vaunted Imark Series

SAN DIEGO, CA - JULY 10, 2002 - Just over a year since the release of its breakthrough software application, iMARK 2.0, Claritas Inc., the premier provider of intelligent marketing information and target marketing services, has extended the acclaimed software series with the introduction of iMARK 3.0, featuring the full GIS capabilities of the MapInfo Professional software application.

"The integration of MapInfo Professional into iMARK offers users significant advancements in spatial analysis, and marks another milestone in the Strategic Technology Alliance between Claritas and MapInfo," said Robert Nascenzi, president and CEO of Claritas. "For years to come, Claritas' clients will continue to benefit from the rapid technological advancements brought forth by the Alliance." Claritas and MapInfo announced the alliance in January 2001 to jointly develop "next generation" market analysis systems.

Added Greg Schibler, Claritas assistant vice president of Software Product Management, "Because MapInfo Professional is regarded as the world's leading software for mapping and geographic analysis it brings tremendous mapping flexibility to the iMARK user, who can not only tap into its capabilities, but a host of third-party mapping tools, as well."

He said new options include a function that inserts aerial imagery into maps to allow individual users throughout the world to view and interact with maps and to generate trade areas based on customer data.

Further, the user can map a specific, odd-shaped geography, like a county, without being distracted by surrounding geographic information. "Because you can easily build layouts for any size printer or plotter, move points and labels around at will and fully control the legend content, look and placement, the results of any analyses can be sold with a new degree of professionalism," Schibler said.

Elsewhere, the new application also includes two new datasets, Financial Clout and the P$YCLE financial segmentation system, said Schibler.

Schibler said several new iMARK releases are already in the works. The next release, tentatively scheduled for release this Fall, will include 2002 data, based on 2000 Census geographies and enhancements to increase the speed of report generation. Also, future releases will more fully integrate MapInfo technology, incorporate more industry specific data, and provide even more site-evaluation capabilities.
