Cityworks Expands Across Departments of Oklahoma City

City Illustrates the Adaptability and User-Friendliness of Cityworks

April 18, 2007 -- Sandy UT — Azteca Systems, Inc., the leading provider of GIS-centric asset maintenance management solutions, announced today that Oklahoma City, OK continues to expand their use of Cityworks throughout the city. The city uses in-house staff to implement the software, emphasizing the user-friendliness and easy-to-use interface of the software.

Oklahoma City became a Cityworks user in August, 2003. As a part of their initial implementation in the Water & Wastewater Department, city staff shadowed the Azteca project team to learn how to implement Cityworks. Since that effort, the city has deployed Cityworks throughout several other departments, including the Will Rogers World Airport. The system is used at the airport to track and manage work orders, projects and inspections for a variety of features, including building facilities and runway lights. The city also uses Cityworks to manage the materials warehouse.

“Our employees really like the Cityworks system,” notes John Goodwin, Manager of Airports Maintenance at Will Rogers World Airport. “They all say it’s the friendliest software they have ever used.”

Following the airport project, Cityworks was expanded into the city’s Public Works, Parks, and Buildings Departments. Presently, the city has about 200 Cityworks Users. In the near future, they plan to implement Cityworks in the Water and Wastewater Quality Division, Solid Waste Management Division, the Myriad Botanical Gardens, the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, and the Transit Department.

“We obviously really like Cityworks,” said Stan Reichert, IT Project Manager at Oklahoma City. “We continue to expand it throughout the city and experience great results.”

“Oklahoma City is an exciting and shining example of how easily Cityworks can be deployed throughout an enterprise,” said Brian Haslam, President of Azteca Systems, Inc. “Oklahoma City has taken Cityworks and tailored it to fit a broad array of departmental needs. The user-friendliness, ease-of-use, and adaptability of Cityworks make the software a perfect solution for large and small agencies, adaptable to resolve immediate and future needs.”
