Electronics Design Service Provider Also Turns to Synchronicity Publisher Suite with IP Gear to Manage Intellectual Property Portfolio for Use Directly with Partners and Customers
WESTFORD, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 5, 2006— Dassault Systemes (DS)(Nasdaq: DASTY) (Euronext Paris: #13065) (Paris:DSY), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that Accent has expanded its implementation of ENOVIA MatrixOne's Synchronicity line of solutions. Accent, one of Europe's leading and largest electronics design houses and an early adopter of the Synchronicity(R) Developer Suite(TM), will now leverage MatrixOne's Synchronicity Publisher Suite(R) with IP Gear(TM) to manage its intellectual property (IP) portfolio for both internal and external use with partners and customers. As a leading supplier of complex SoC ICs, Accent engineers work on several projects concurrently across design centers and customers' locations. The company has now expanded its implementation of Synchronicity DesignSync(R) to enhance collaborative data design management. Accent has adopted ProjectSync as its collaborative tool for tracking issues, design requirements and specifications across its global locations. In addition, ProjectSync will be deployed as part of the collaborative tool suite that Accent is providing to its customers to enable a concurrent engineering design environment.
"Today's complex SoC designs require the availability of an efficient collaborative workgroup design environment enabling concurrent engineering approaches. Accent's design infrastructure, based upon state-of-the-art EDA tools and a grid computing server farm, is complemented by ENOVIA MatrixOne solutions including DesignSync, ProjectSync and HCM," said Paolo Mancini, VP and chief information officer for Accent. "The only way to reach the productivity made necessary by today's time-to-market challenges is to reuse and leverage existing IPs and design modules using a proprietary design platform. In this respect IP Gear plays a fundamental role being the foundation of Accent design-for-reuse platforms."
In order to pool its SoC IP, Accent turned to Synchronicity Developer Suite to allow its project teams to safely share design data. Now, the organization will use Publisher Suite to build a design reuse system to be stored in a customized IP catalog. Engineer productivity is expected to increase as they are able to easily search for, learn about, evaluate, acquire and get support on suitable existing design blocks for their projects.
"Accent, like many other leading semiconductor manufacturers, has worked successfully with ENOVIA MatrixOne to get more out of its existing IP assets," said Patricia Megowan, vice president, global electronics for ENOVIA MatrixOne. "With a secure solution that enables new collaborative business models and design reuse, Accent is improving cycle time while reducing costs."
