Nascim to Work with Verdi nWave from Novas; Comprehensive Waveform Viewer Integrates with Nascentric's Fast SPICE Simulator

AUSTIN, Texas—(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 8, 2006— Nascentric, an Austin-based simulation and verification software company, announced today that Nascim, their next generation Fast SPICE simulator, will allow users to run the Novas Verdi(TM) nWave(TM) module, a complete waveform viewing tool that provides a comprehensive and intuitive view of design activity over time.

Nascim is Nascentric's Fast SPICE simulator, the first in a series of advanced full-chip simulation and analysis products with the speed, accuracy, and capacity needed to make dynamic, full-chip simulation and verification possible. Nascim enables design teams to analyze larger and more complex circuits up to ten times faster than previously possible. Support for nWave is provided via Novas' FSDB (Fast Signal DataBase), which stores the results of very large simulation/verification runs. Using the data captured in FSDB, the nWave module of Verdi provides the designer with a graphical view of design behavior both at the block level and at the transistor level.

"The intuitive design insight offered by nWave combined with the high speed and large capacity provided by Nascim helps to drastically reduce the simulation and verification time of very large nanometer designs," said Dennis George, Director of Marketing for Nascentric.

"Interoperability of design tools is a crucial requirement in complex nanometer design today," said George Bakewell, Director of Product Marketing for Novas. "We expect the interoperability between the Verdi nWave module and Nascim to yield significant productivity improvements for our mutual customers."
