ROUND ROCK, Texas (Jan. 28, 2025) -- Five semiconductor industry technologists have been reelected as officers for 2025 of the Silicon Integration Initiative’s Open Access Coalition, the group that oversees the development of OpenAccess, the world's most widely used open-reference database for integrated circuit design. These officers play a crucial role in setting the strategic direction, making key decisions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the coalition.

Marshall Tiner, senior director of OpenAccess, said the year-to-year continuity of coalition leaders is one reason for the company's success. Launched in 2002, OpenAccess has evolved largely thanks to this team and the expeditious yet cautious process for introducing API changes.

“The OA coalition constantly synchronizes the API and database with electronic design automation tools, Tiner said. “This relentless collaboration with the top EDA suppliers, IP providers, design companies, and the integrator company provides an open standard API that enables different tools from various vendors to seamlessly interact with each other.”   

S2 is a not-for-profit membership corporation that is crucial in providing users and suppliers from semiconductor corporations, institutions, and academia access to shared technical solutions.
