MARCH 11, 2024 – New York, NY – Dr. Sarah Buchner, founder and CEO of construction technology industry start-up Trunk Tools, has been honored as a 2024 Construction  Champion by leading industry publication, Construction Dive. This annual list recognizes the most inspiring women leaders throughout the commercial construction industry. 

Dr. Buchner, whose Construction Champion profile can be found here, founded Trunk Tools in 2021 in response to the growing and critical skilled labor shortage. The first of its kind, Trunk Tools incentivizes productivity and safety by leveraging artificial intelligence, fintech and behavioral economics. Trunk Tools emerged from stealth with a $10M in seed funding announcement in July 2023 and has since brought two products to market – TrunkPerform and TrunkText.

“It means a lot to me to be recognized as a Construction Champion because I believe that women have a crucial role to play in advancing and modernizing the construction industry,” said Dr. Buchner. “The industry is continuing to improve at a rapid rate due to emerging technology like AI, and I’m confident that there will be more women on the frontlines helping the industry adapt and evolve. I founded Trunk Tools because I wanted to make job sites safer and more efficient in terms of time and labor, solving some of the industry's biggest pain points.”

Out of over 400 nominations, Construction Dive named 31 2024 Construction Champions. The honorees showcase a diverse array of expertise, yet steadfast dedication to shaping the industry’s present and future. Dr. Buchner is the sole 2024 honoree who champions construction technology.
