Oxford, England. June 27 2023. -- The PLM Interest Group announces that the White Paper on PLM Professionalism has been extensively updated, based on feedback to the Launch Version. The new revision is now published at Version 2.0.
The White Paper sets out views on the current state of PLM, opportunities for the future, and the benefits for organisations, individual practitioners and education. The aim is for it to evolve into an industry-wide Position Statement on the scope and value of forming a recognised PLM Profession.
As well as calling for more feedback, this revision also includes a Support Form for organisations or individuals to show that they are in favour of the concept and its aims. The indications are that there is a large 'silent majority' who would like professionalism to happen, but those voices are not yet being heard.
The feedback and discussion process is open to all PLM practitioners, in any type of role, in any organisation and in any country. This is a global debate. Practitioners everywhere are invited to download and review the White Paper and send in their comments. Background information can be requested via Email Contact.
