Azul 3D Announces New CEO, Leadership Changes

Leadership team ready to launch new partnerships and products

SKOKIE, Ill. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 3, 2021 — Azul 3D, a developer of leading-edge 3D printing technology, today announced that Cody Petersen has been promoted to chief executive officer (CEO). He previously held the position of vice president of product development and manufacturing.

The company has also announced further changes to its leadership team. Co-founder David Walker has been appointed president and chief technology officer (CTO), and co-founder James Hedrick has been appointed chief product and business development officer. The company also recently appointed 3D printing industry veteran Tuan TranPham as chief revenue officer (CRO).

With this team in place, the company is preparing to launch new partnerships and products, grow its team, and take on new challenges in the 3D printing market.

Petersen brings a broad range of experience in product development, strategy, operations, and engineering across multiple Fortune 100 companies and industries. Prior to joining Azul 3D, he served as senior vice president of strategy and operations for Visionary Training Resources and as director of quality at Raytheon Technologies. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade at John Deere in engineering, product, and management roles.

Walker and Hedrick bring years of experience in additive manufacturing to their new roles and will continue to be deeply engaged in the operations, engineering product development, business development, and strategy of Azul 3D. Walker and Hedrick, with Mirkin, co-founded Azul 3D in 2017 after developing the company’s novel 3D printing technology at Northwestern University.
