NEW YORK, July 16, 2020 — (PRNewswire) — B&H is excited to announce the Leica M10-R, a digital rangefinder camera featuring an updated sensor within a proven and timeless body design. Separating itself from the other M10 family members, the M10-R is characterized by the "R" in its name, which stands for "resolution." Its new full-frame 40MP CMOS sensor is a first for color-capturing digital rangefinder cameras, and it stands to open up new avenues for stills photographers as well as further reap the benefits of the famed Leica lenses.

The higher resolution sensor also brings an expanded dynamic range and a broad ISO 100-50000 sensitivity range, with low noise levels, to suit working in a wide variety of lighting conditions. As higher resolutions appeal to landscape photographers, Leica has also increased the versatility a bit with an expanded shutter speed range, now going up to measured times of 16 minutes for accurate long-exposure shooting. The new sensor is paired with a Maestro II image processor and a 2GB buffer to enable continuous shooting of 4.5 fps for up to 10 sec, and the shutter's design retains the near-silent quality that was first introduced with the M10-P.

Beyond these updates, the Leica M10-R remains a familiar and intuitive camera with its slim body profile, integrated ISO dial, and bright 3.0" 1.04m-dot rear touchscreen LCD. The 0.73x-magnification optical viewfinder incorporates an accurate rangefinder focusing mechanism and, for expanded lens compatibility or close-focusing needs, the M10-R is also compatible with the optional auxiliary Visoflex (Typ 020) electronic viewfinder. Additionally, the camera features built-in Wi-Fi to work in conjunction with the Leica FOTOS app for mobile devices.
The Leica M10-R is available in Black Chrome and Silver Chrome colors.
