Corvette Heroes Launching First-Of-Its-Kind 3D Virtual Auto Show To Showcase Historic "Lost Corvettes" as Part Of National Sweepstakes For 36 Corvettes Once Owned By Renowned Pop Artist Peter Max

Proceeds From Sweepstakes Of "Greatest Corvette Barn Find In History" Will Go To The National Guard Educational Foundation

NEW YORK, June 30, 2020 — (PRNewswire) —  With in-person auto shows and auctions postponed or cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Corvette Heroes group has built and is launching the first-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art 3D virtual auto show to showcase "The Lost Corvettes" http://thelostcorvettesvr.com/

"The Lost Corvettes," 36 Corvettes from 1953 to 1989, are often referred to as the Peter Max Collection because the renowned pop artist owned them and was going to use them as canvases for a series of paintings.  He never pursued this project and for more than 25 years the cars sat in various parking garages throughout the city, collecting dust, dirt and debris.

Several years ago, a representative for Max reached out to Scott Heller, who had been helping Max move the cars to various garages around the city. The agent asked Heller if he was interested in purchasing the collection.  Heller discussed this with his two sons Michael and Adam Heller, and his cousin Peter Heller, as well as real estate associates Gary, Adam and Fred Spindler.

Then they reached out to Chris Mazzilli, the owner of Dream Car Restorations on Long Island and one of the world's foremost Corvette enthusiasts and experts, to compile a detailed analysis on what it would take to bring the cars back to their former glory.  As a result, the decision was made to purchase the entire collection under the aegis of the group they formed, Corvette Heroes.

The group had been showcasing the classic Corvettes, one each from 1953, the year Chevrolet introduced the quintessential American muscle car, to 1989, at various car shows and auctions across the country, as a vehicle for promoting a national sweepstakes in which 36 winners would each win one of the cars.  Proceeds from the sweepstakes are benefiting military veterans through the National Guard Educational Foundation.

With the pandemic halting in-person car shows and auctions, Corvette Heroes decided to utilize the most advanced technology available to create a first-ever 3D Virtual Auto Show, which can be viewed at http://thelostcorvettesvr.com/.  The team has built both the "showroom" in the spirit of an old military hangar, and all 36 cars in 3D; the first ones are the 55, 56, 66, 67, 69, and 89.  Among the features, visitors will be able to experience the intricate details of the car's exteriors and even be able to change the paint jobs to the paint options that were originally offered for each make/year of the cars.  In the interior, visitors be able to get behind the wheel and virtually start the car to hear exactly and genuinely what the engines of each car really sounds like.  Additionally, visitors can turn on the radio to listen to a hit tune of the year of the car.  In each of the car's virtual showroom spaces, visitors will be able to watch assets that tell about the car and the interesting anecdotes that accompany them, see them in action and peruse performance stats and features for each of the original cars.

To view the Virtual Auto Show and to sign up for the sweepstakes – to be eligible, you must be 18 years of age or older – visit http://thelostcorvettesvr.com/  or follow @LostCorvettes on Facebook and Instagram.
