KNOXVILLE, Tenn., April 10, 2020 — (PRNewswire) —

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., April 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Tennessee River Valley (TRV) Stewardship Council is pleased to announce the migration to a new platform for its newly revamped website, providing visitors and residents alike with information on indoor and outdoor attractions, festivals, locals places of interests, lodging and restaurants in the seven-state region.

Available at https://tennesseerivervalleygeotourism.org/, the cloud-based website includes new features that work to inform and inspire a reason to visit the Tennessee River Valley. Some of the new features include:

  • Responsive platform across multiple devices
  • Mapbox maps integration with listings
  • Nearby places of interest highlighted with each listing
  • Blog module
  • Built-in geospatial data alongside other information and files

"The new platform for the Tennessee River Valley Mapguide website offers easy access to valuable tourism information that highlights all there is to see and do in the seven-state region," said Julie Graham, spokesperson for the TRV Stewardship Council. "While indoor attractions across the United States are closed during this time of self-quarantine, many outdoor recreation areas are remaining open. The Tennessee River Valley is home to many natural areas, miles of walking trails and nature preserves offering wide open spaces to experience and fresh air to take in."

To redesign and launch the website, TRV Stewardship Council worked with Elebase, a Denver, Colo.-based company that offers backend services for web and mobile applications via API.

With an area covering 41,028 square miles, the Tennessee River Valley is home to vibrant river cites, 49 lakes, hundreds of waterfalls, vineyards, trails, large tracts of public recreational lands and small, rural communities. The Tennessee River Valley Geotourism MapGuide is designed to showcase to national and international audiences the natural, cultural and historic attractions that define the Tennessee River Valley region. It best serves small local businesses by providing a marketing tool to reach travelers worldwide. "The new platform offers users responsive interactive experiences with the mapguide, which was not available on all mobile devices with the previous platform," added Graham.

The Tennessee River Valley Mapguide is one of only 17 geotourism mapguides worldwide to date and joins crownofthecontinent.net and sierranevadageotourism.org in presenting their websites to the world. For more information, visit http://www.tennesseerivervalleygeotourism.org.
