World Ocean Council (WOC) Engages with Global Start-up Competition Connecting Innovators and Entrepreneurs in the Maritime and Logistics Industry
17 July 2019 -- The World Ocean Council is honored to be a Supporting Partner of T he Captain’s Table, a pitch competition organized by Young Professionals in Shipping Network (YPSN), which aims to connect start-ups to an ecosystem supporting innovation and sustainability in maritime and logistics, and to raise awareness of Hong Kong as a vibrant international maritime centre.
Five finalists will be flown to Hong Kong for a preparatory workshop in the lead up to the live pitch event on 19 November, with access to legal, commercial and technical advice from maritime experts, as well as introductions to industry leaders and access to further investment through YPSN’s extensive network. Cash prizes of US$25,000 will be awarded.
Categories for entry include Environment and Sustainability, Deep Tech, SaaS and PaaS Solutions, Fintech and Insurtech, and Education. Submissions will be accepted until 31 July 2019.

The Captain’s Table challenge has been invited to be a part of the WOC “Global Blue Economy Innovation Network” at the WOC 7th Sustainable Ocean Summit (SOS), Paris, 20-22 Nov. Accelerators, Incubators and Challenge Competitions focused on Ocean Sustainable Development are invited to be part of the “Global Blue Economy Innovation Network” and the collaboration and synergies it will catalyse.
