L’Occitane Flagship Store on London’s Regent Street is awarded the prestigious recognition

Press Release, 17 May 2019 - Futurebrand UXUS has been awarded the prized Outstanding Flagship Store Design (<12000sqm) for its L’Occitane Flagship Store on Regent Street, London, at last night’s World Retail Awards in Amsterdam.

The coveted World Retail Award celebrates retail experience that demonstrates how design can enhance the essence of a brand, proving to be a truly and innovative element of commercial success. In this particular category, the omnichannel reality of the contemporary retail environment also had to be taken into consideration, with store design increasingly having to embrace technologies that complement the shopping experience and differentiate the physical experience to the online one.

French natural beauty, skincare and fragrance band, L’Occitane en Provence commissioned FutureBrand UXUS to create a new immersive experience for its first flagship store in 20 years in London’s busiest shopping area, which launched in 2018. Offering a luxurious and sensorial exploration of the brand’s full range of natural beauty products, which are all inspired by the south of France art de vivre and Provencal beauty secrets, the store designed by FutureBrand UXUS recognised the importance of putting the customer at the very heart of the retail experience.

Conceived as a restorative oasis of calm, in response to the bustle of Regent Street, L’Occitane flagship store brings the brand vividly to life, inviting the customers at the heart of an unforgettable multi-sensorial retail experience.

The high-profile ceremony came at the end of the three-day World Retail Congress, during which George Gottl, FutureBrand UXUS’s Founder and Chief Creative Officer, was invited to participate in a leading discussion panel, tackling the theme of “Think different: Creating spaces that resonate with customers”.

FutureBrand UXUS also created a unique ‘Sub Zero’ pop-bar experience, in collaboration with creative cooking platform Diptych, a playful and interactive refreshment area that provided visitors with nitro treats and icy cocktails.

FutureBrand UXUS has also published a white paper entitled ‘Retail & Everyday Wonder’ that outlines George Gottl’s thoughts on how design can shape the future of retail by disrupting the ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary.

FutureBrand UXUS CEO, Queenie Lo, commented in receiving the prize: ‘We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious accolade, which recognises the importance of understanding the essence of a brand and transforming a retail space into an unforgettable shopping experience. At FutureBrand UXUS, we have been working to deliver bespoke, tailored shopping environments that truly speak to the customer, and incorporate the accessibility of the digital sphere with the breadth of opportunities of the physical one to develop a successful concept that reinvigorates the instore experience”.
