MILPITAS, Calif., May 08, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The
Electronic System Design (ESD) Alliance, a
SEMI Strategic Association Partner, today welcomed its newly elected 10-member Governing Council who will serve a two-year term.
Returning Governing Council members are:
- Dr. Aart de Geus, chairman and co-chief executive officer (co-CEO) of Synopsys, Inc.
- Dean Drako, president and CEO at IC Manage
- Dr. John Kibarian, president and CEO of PDF Solutions, Inc.
- Dr. Walden C. Rhines, CEO Emeritus of Mentor, a Siemens business
- Simon Segars, CEO at Arm
- Lip-Bu Tan, CEO of Cadence Design Systems
New Governing Council members are Dr. Raik Brinkmann, president and CEO of OneSpin Solutions, Dr. Prakash Narain, president and CEO of Real Intent and David Dutton, CEO of Silvaco. Robert P. Smith, executive director of the ESD Alliance, is also a member of the council.
The Governing Council was elected by the ESD Alliance’s voting members during the voting period that ended May 3. The new chair will be elected at the first meeting of the Governing Council meeting Thursday, May 23.
2019 CEO Outlook
The ESD Alliance’s 2019 CEO Outlook immediately follows the Governing Council meeting May 23, at 6 p.m. with networking, dinner and drinks. The panel discussion will begin at 7 p.m.
Ed Sperling, editor in chief of Semiconductor Engineering, will moderate a panel that includes Kibarian and Rhines. John Chong, vice president of product and business development for Kionix, and Jack Harding, president and CEO of eSilicon, round out the panel.
Members of the electronic system and semiconductor design ecosystem are welcome to attend free of charge, though advance registration is required. It will be held at SEMI, 673 S. Milpitas Boulevard, Milpitas, Calif.
ES Design West
The ESD Alliance’s newest initiative,
ES Design West, is the only event in North America that addresses commercial achievements of the electronic system design community and forward-looking, system-centric design approaches. Co-located with
SEMICON West 2019 July 9-11 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center, it links electronic system and semiconductor design with the electronic product manufacturing and supply chain, to highlight how the disciplines are drawing closer together.
