August 19, 2018 -- WHAT: The National Building Museum’s latest Summer Block Party installation – “Fun House” – in Washington, DC is open to the public! Designed by Snarkitecture, the exhibition covers the entirety of the Great Hall, featuring a sequence of interactive rooms and combines many of the design firm’s greatest hits. Work Zone Cam teamed up with the Museum for the 5th consecutive year to document construction with its HD webcam and created a time-lapse movie of the entire process.
WHY: Fun House is a freestanding structure that recalls and re-imagines the idea of a traditional home. The interactive exhibit invites visitors to walk through the house, where the rooms convey the ten-year story of Snarkitecture. Designed for people of all ages, nearly every aspect of the installation is white, presenting a blank canvas to let your imagination run wild.
“It is always exciting to see the time-lapse from Work Zone Cam for our Summer Block Party installation,” said Chase Rynd, executive director of the National Building Museum. “While Fun House opened to the public on July 4, we like to think of the project as starting as soon as we begin construction, and this gives our audience an idea of the engineering and building expertise that goes into these projects.”
HOW: See construction progress for the National Building Museum’s Fun House with Work Zone Cam’s newest time-lapse movie!
