IN2FAB Extends Partnership with Tokyo Nano Farm for Design Migration Technology

Northampton, United Kingdom, June 4th 2018.
Tokyo, Japan, June 4th 2018.

IN2FAB Technology has extended its partnership with Tokyo Nano Farm of Tokyo, Japan to include IN2FAB’s analog and mixed signal design migration services in addition to the support of IN2FAB’s schematic and test bench migration software tools.  This will bring additional benefits to companies in the Japanese region and help to support customers who wish to move their silicon IP to a new process or foundry.

Japan has a long tradition in semiconductor design and has built a huge library of circuits and silicon intellectual property (IP) over many years.  Much of this is tied to older processing technology, particularly with integrated device manufacturers, which can now be moved to new processes or external manufacturers in a very short time using IN2FAB’s design migration systems.

In addition to supporting IN2FAB’s schematic migration tools for customer use, Tokyo Nano Farm will now help customers who wish to use IN2FAB’s design service group to migrate the schematic and layout for IP and full chips to new processes.  This will deliver complete circuits migrated to new manufacturing technology in a fraction of the time taken for redesign.

“We are very happy to be able to extend our relationship with Tokyo Nano Farm and help support our customers in Japan”, said Timothy Regan, President of IN2FAB.  “Tokyo Nano Farm’s strong knowledge of the customers’ needs along with their many years of experience in the semiconductor industry ensures that we can help more companies move their silicon IP from one manufacturing process to another.

Regan also sees this program helping IP vendors around the world engage with the Japanese market.  “Analog and mixed signal IP vendors have many products for foundries that provide contract manufacturing services but there is almost no external IP available for use with Japanese IDM companies.  IN2FAB can also move external IP to match the requirements of an independent Japanese manufacturer, opening up new opportunities for IP vendors in markets that they have not been able to reach.

“We are very excited to promote IN2FAB’s unique technology in Japan”, said Hidemi Yokokawa of Tokyo Nano Farm. “We know most of Japanese semiconductor makers have in-house developed chips which could be reused by using IN2FAB solutions.”  Yokokawa also highlighted the new opportunity for external IP vendors to bring their products to Japanese corporations.  “IP vendors often struggle to bring their products to Japan as many Japanese companies have their own manufacturing tools and rules.  We can now help bring IP to Japan by migrating it to Japanese standards as well as helping to move Japanese products to new foundries. TokyoNanoFarm’s mission is to become a focal point among tool provider, IP provider, and design house for our Japanese clients."
